How do I put words to my visions?

The above is the question of this past week. Since I was invited to participate in this project hundreds of different ideas have passed through my head. One more fantastic than the other. I have searched and searched for the one excellent idea the whole time. But it never became clear what that subject should be.

That got me thinking of how most people including me approach life. Caught up in everyday life we always have to make decisions several hundred times per day. Always thinking if it was the right answer we gave, did we choose the right gift for a friend’s birthday? Was I too hard on the kids this morning, at the breakfast table? All those little things can turn into a whole mountain of feelings that can be hard to handle.

How do we deal with this then? How do we make a decision, stick with it and never look back?

Since I had to make changes and slow down my life I have tried to learn new things. Learning to enjoy the things I do and I always use my gut feeling in every aspect in life. It was my gut that said to join this project and it was my gut that said –You’ll learn to put words (verbs) to your images (visions) and everything will work out fine. But hey my brain said, you must write in English too. Yes I know…….. But I’ll write in English every day to my email friends, on my blog and when visiting other blogs. It will be fine! I can do it.

I think if you have to choose between two things that are seemingly alike or perhaps very different. It can also bee something you’ll never have tried before. Perhaps you are a bit afraid to try. Whatever it is there’s always a risk of failure. BUT there is also a huge chance that you'll succeed. If you don’t try you’ll never know what you might miss out on. Take some time to feel how the different decisions make you feel. Go over the pros and cons, consult your intellect and then choose what your gut tells you. Also remember that with age comes wisdom and knowledge. We have been there and done that, we know there is always a way to solve things gone badly. There is no need to look back and be sorry for the things we decided on, because it was the right decision at that particular time in life.

To reconnect to the question of how to put words to my visions. I’m none the wiser by now and I’m starting to think, is there ever going to be words?

    • Should I write witty and funny texts?

    • Perhaps I should discuss photography?

    • Tips and tricks in photography?

    • Is photography art or is it a documentation of what we see?

    • Digital or analogue, my thoughts on that?

    • Or, should I just write what comes into my mind at the time?

I think that a schedule of themes that I make for myself would be the best way to solve this. Wait a minute! What about the vision part of it all? Well that’s the easy part; I see pictures in everything I just have to have my camera with me….

Now back to the scheduling of the themes I would like to write about. Hmm……...... This is hard but I think that this is what I would like to begin with.

    • Becoming a grandmother for the first time.

    • When life takes a turn you didn’t expect.

    • How important music is for me.

    • Dreams and future goals.

    • Formula 1

    • Perhaps my kitchen garden will be a good thing to write about?

Or perhaps I choose whatever I fancy for the day in question.

Little did I know when I started to write this. I have just put words to today's picture.

Vision and Verb together at last!

Most definitely Formula 1! ;-) Puna will most surely give me a look ( :-| ) for this comment!

Great effort! All of you ladies are so talented and gifted. I'm so impressed and I'm really enjoying this new endeavor.

A most excellent post, Frida! Filled with bits of wisdom (that I need to remember) and humor (which we all need) and motivation (I really need that!). :) Well done!

First of all, Frida, kudos to you for your valiant effort in English. My Dutch partner has to write/speak English with me every day, so I am very humbled by the effort it takes you. I know that it is NOT always easy, even if you can do it well.

Secondly, thank you for switching days with me! :) I still don't have my new laptop, after the early demise of my last one. You have had the harder challenge going after Marcie. I haven't yet decided if it'll be easier or harder for me at the end, following all the class acts. HA!

Thirdly, this is not news to you, since you're one I have followed for a long time now, but YOU ROCK. Your images have been so soulful to me for so long I don't know if they're mine (wishful thinking) or yours. This is not news to you because I have repeated myself...repeatedly. Trust me when I say that as I have hung onto every one of your visions, I will also hang onto your verbs, gladly. You're out of the gate running, Woman!

Like you, Frida, my "gut" told me this project was something GREAT and one I wanted to enthusiastically join. And, like you, I too question "How to put words to my visions."

Congratulations on your first post; a post that helps us get better acquainted with you. I'll look forward to getting to know you and your photography even more fully as we travel this journey together.

frida, every theme you suggest is relevant to all of our lives, except perhaps the formula 1. that, i think, will be very interesting!! congratulations and imagine that all of us are very alike in so many ways, your post demonstrates that.

I love how, by the second post, I feel at home and comfortable with how Vision and Verb is unfolding. Frida, this was a fabulous post filled with visions and verbs that echo the ones have been floating in my own wee noggin for the past while!

It so funny that in just 2 mornings, my routine has changed. First emails, then rush right over here to see what my new sisters have to say. I LOVE this! Here I've been agonizing about my chosen first subject, which I think I just changed, and here you are, writing in a foreign language and doing it so well. And already a teaser, this famous Formula 1. Can't wait to hear more!

Here's a "new" brother chiming in. Frida! Amazing words! that bring absolute understanding. Each petal on your image's flower represents a decision and some petals have spots where a decision might have been made in haste or too quickly, but they must still be a part of the whole.

To me, there is no right and wrong decisions, only the lessons you can learn from each one.

Good luck with everything!! YOU and all the group will do wonderful things here!

A huge congratulations Frida. Your challenge is indeed the greatest since you are having to do this in English. I really commend you more than you know. You've done it! You've put verbs to your vision so very well. You've done something I'm not good at -- you've included your obvious sense of humour as well. I look forward to more of your verbs and vision.

Fabulous site, don't know how you girls manage to do it all. I've visited many of your excellent blogs and now another great one. Best of luck.

I've been told there is no word for 'coincidence' in Hebrew, so, I believe, it was no coincidence in my finding 'Vision and Verb' at its unveiling. I don't envy you the task of putting words to your beautiful pictures because some of them evoke only silence as they speak that special, spiritual language only the heart understands. I am looking forward to many blessings from you talented gals.
