In the Land of Dreams and Dragonflies

In the land of dreams and dragonflies, I would be queen of my domain…wait…I already am! And the king, too!
I would eat chocolate ice cream for breakfast every morning. Or pumpkin pie. Or cinnamon rolls.
I would wear a size 6…or maybe a 4…or maybe an 8…and I’d be happy.
I would have answers to all my questions, in the land of dreams and dragonflies.
I would sleep in as late as I wanted, and my dogs would sleep in as late as I wanted, too.
I would spend my day with camera in hand, chasing light and inspiration.
In the land of dreams and dragonflies, I wouldn’t have to go to work in the morning, because all of my bills would magically be paid.
I would travel the world, especially Italy, and then Australia, and then…
I wouldn’t have to put my makeup on in order to look beautiful, although some would say I already do!! Ha!!!
In the land of dreams and dragonflies, I could eat all the Cyrus O’Leary Chocolate Pies I wanted, without consequence – including belly ache and too tight jeans.
I would snap my fingers and the house would be clean.
My pants would be free of dog hair and slime, no matter how long I’ve had them on.
I could laze in my backyard all day long, watching the shadows grow long while my dogs played nearby.
In the land of dreams and dragonflies, I would not wish for diamonds, pearls or palaces, but instead would wish for life's simple abundance – all the little things that make life worthwhile.
As I sit in my backyard, with camera in hand and my dogs playing nearby, and watch the many dragonflies of all sizes and colors flittering about, I realize that I’m already in the land of dreams and dragonflies and my eyes fill with tears. And life is good.

Ohhhhhh, Toni. I love your heaven on earth...in whatever moments you can snatch it and BE THERE. I love what you wish for...the simple pleasures of life. I love what is meaningful to you...that which is important and eternalized. This brings such a smile to my face this morning. It's a good exercise for all of us...to write down what heaven-on-earth is for us! Thank you. Speaking of which, your image is heavenly...and I especially like that you are Queen and King both. :)

Off topic, my price came in the mail. Hello Canvas really made sure they worked fast, they said two weeks, it turned out to be two days!! The result is very very good, I love it.
Oh...if only we could all dwell in the land of dreams and dragonflies... what a magical world it would be!!! And - you do know that all you have to do is close your eyes and imagine...and you'll find that you're already there. Life IS good!!!

Awwwwww....so nice, your vision of "the land of dream and dragonflies" AND your wonderful, magical image! I would imagine that many of us are closer to living our dreams than not. I would imagine that many of us are able (for the most part) to enjoy those wonderful, magical simple things of life, including the slobber of one's favorite dog friend.

Oh yes. When you get to that place, the place where the life you have is your land of dreams and dragonflies, then you are blessed. I am learning this myself just now. It is wonderful and magical to sit in your life and say "I am happy right here, right now."

You're right, life is good, usually. It's just the work thing that drags me down. Otherwise, it would be magical. I loooove this photo, it's magical.
