Paris Nights

You know the feeling.
You walk out of a busy Parisian restaurant on a cool autumn night. The lights in Paris twinkle brighter than in just about any city in the world but the reflection off of the street lights on the misty pavement shimmer even brighter. The pedestrians walk by chatting and laughing - even the Parisian laughter has that distinctive French lilt. The shimmering lights, the laughing pedestrians all contribute to that je ne sais quoi feeling and you push yourself lower in your peacoat and put your hands around the husband's arm and hug it tight.
As you walk to the fountain with him you think to yourself "Is there a more perfect space in the universe?"
Non - je ne le crois pas.
Have a wonderful weekend. I hope it's full of romance.
Imagination. Whimsy. Romance

Awww, I was there about a month ago with my brother, and his wife. I'd have to agree with you Paris, does have a very different feel to it. Very romantic somehow amidst the busy-ness of it all. You captured it so well, Puna with your words and this beautiful photograph. Votre Francais est tres bon :-)
Paris, sigh, need to go back there someday soon, as I do to NYC... I love world cities. Been to London in October... great one too...
Oh..and I'm right there with you - enjoying the magic and mystery of a Paris night. What a beautiful way to imagine a weekend!
Love this - Puna!!!
I sure hope one day to know that feeling! Sounds magical ~ lovely image.
I have to say, Puna, on this our 2nd anniversary weekend, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else than where I am right now at a delightful B&B in NE Netherlands, with fresh snow just fallen...and before we go out for our anniversary dinner. Full of romance. However, I'll give Paris a close second, just for you. :)
Ahhh ladies, I'm tickled pink to come here this morning to find such wonderful comments! Now I'll be planning my own special romantic weekend - alas, it's the Super Bowl weekend but I'll find a way...
Oh...to dream of romance in Paris!
Oh I love Paris. But I love where I am now too: skiing in the Austrian Alps, although it was very very cold today. Tonight it is going to be -30 c.
Love the picture.
j'adore.
been there as a struggling coed and sleeping on the street to a more flush adult attending the french open, and other than lake como, i would agree that paris is an architectural wedding cake. love it.
in honor of valentine's day, i just cut strawberries in half, dipped them into greek vanilla yogurt, and froze them to serve at a brunch for may gal pals!
....and...um...who's more loving than my aunt ruth?!!!!
LOVE the post:-)
Paris is a dream of mine on my unwritten life list, if you will. Oh, sweet city of Love.
I just knew the sparkles there were different. Thank you for confirming it is so.
This image reminds me of Monet. Wonderful!
Oh, I would love to go to Paris with my hubby. So romantic....
Lovely photo, Puna - watery and romantic...
You have just brought back to me the magic of the night lights in Paris.
You photo is like a beautiful painting. Love the shimmering lights. Hopefully, someday, I'll get to find out what it feels like to be in Paris.
This makes me want to go back to Paris right NOW!
oh... sigh.... what a lovely image (both words and photo)!
Gay Paris, nothing like it. The light, the ambiance, just being there. Thanks for the lovely reminder.
