    Fly Away

I wonder what it would be like to fly higher than the stars. The freedom must be heady; must be amazingly breathtaking. To see the entire world in one glance is amazing and wonderful to imagine. We are small, and to be out of ourselves to see how truly diminutive we are compared to the big, big, wide open, fantastic world - what a thing, what a wonder, what perspective that would give us!

I see myself from up there, a tiny spot among the other spots of humanity. I see my problems too, they are big from where I stand on this ground but up there - yes, up there - they are miniscule among the stars and the wide universe.

So that's where I'll put them today. I'll watch them become smaller and smaller as I fly higher and higher.

May your problems be among the Lilluputians today and that you are flying above them, among the stars.

This puts a whole new perspective on life...doesn't it? Love what you've created here with this image...and - yes - wouldn't it be wonderful to fly higher than the stars!

What a glorious image, reflected by your words. Something to aspire to. Thank you.

Beautiful image and words! It brings to mind my fascination with the story of Peter Pan when I was a little girl. I so wanted to fly, and was considering "flying" off the top bunk bed.

What I love about your wisdom here is putting everything in its proper perspective, especially those problems that just seem to overtake us at times.

"I see my problems too, they are big from where I stand on this ground but up there - yes, up there - they are miniscule among the stars and the wide universe." -- beautiful way of putting things in perspective. Thank you for this, Puna. I would imagine most all of us could benefit by remembering this concept.

Wow! what a terrific image, I love it and have always loved the thought of flying ~ thanks for reminding me!

Thank you so much ladies. I try to remind myself of this from time to time...

thanks for the reminders about beauty, insignificance, and the notion that we can all soar.

Oh Puna...you've put to words many of my thoughts over the years...what it would be like to fly like a bird...to have that perspective from up above...wonderful post!

Makes me think. The thought of flying is freeing but also frightening. Am I also afraid to leave my problems behind? Do they keep me distracted? Hmmm...

What is it about flying! I often had dreams when I was young of being able to fly just above the trees, like the birds. The feeling was exhilarating. I think dream analysts have a heyday with such dreams (something about not being grounded or in reality) but I loved them. If flying "up there" helps give us better perspective, why not. Sounds like a good idea to me. Thanks, Puna!

What a great image. The sense of movement is so intense. It looks like the birds might be kettling - catching a thermal and spinning their way up. Many hawks and other raptors migrate that way - catching the thermal up, and then gliding great distances before catching another thermal. It's an easy way to travel!

Yes, if only we could fly. Some birds have it all: flying, walking, swimming, diving.
A good reminder to put our problems in perspective, thanks

Cool photo! My favorite flights to watch are the hawks -- they way the glide and circle. I try to put myself up there with them and imagine what they see looking down at me.

Brilliant image Puna! Absolutely love your sense of putting problems into their proper perspective. I always think in terms of giving any situation room to breath; not unlike looking down and recognizing the smallness of an issue. Beautiful!

The other night I sat outside to watch for meteors, and I felt this same sense of tiny smallness. We are all just specks in a larger universe, and sometimes it really does help put things in perspective to remember this. Thank you, for this lovely reminder.

I would like to fly up there with you. Perhaps everybody should from time to time. Thank you for this lovely post.
